Payam Report – Iran Weekly Update #3 | Executions, Protests & a Pension Time Bomb

In Episode 3 of Payam Report – Iran Weekly Update, we look at three key fronts of the current crisis in Iran:

– A new week of executions and human rights violations – A wave of labour and social protests across the country – The “time bomb” inside Iran’s collapsing pension system

🔴 In the human rights section, we report on at least 29 executions in one week, continued pressure on political prisoners and activists, and ongoing resistance by families – from the Tuesdays Against Execution campaign to the struggle of the Khavaran families.

🟠 In the labour and social protests section, we cover at least 22 protests and strikes involving oil and gas workers, municipal workers, miners, healthcare staff, teachers, pensioners, farmers and others – all in the context of 40–50% inflation.

🟢 In the final analysis, we look at Iran’s pension funds as a ticking time bomb: what it means when, for millions of retirees, “retirement” is turning into organised poverty.
